PROGRAM SUMMARY

New Media Design teaches the technical and conceptual skills needed to effectively communicate ideas in today's multimedia environment. Learn basic design concepts for new media in order to communicate ideas and information effectively. Learn interactive and non-interactive audio-visual design principles and skills for integrating images, animation, text and sound. Learn practical skills needed for creating multimedia presentations, web sites, and CD-ROMs with a range of authoring/presentation tools such as Macromedia: Freehand, Director, Flash, Dreamweaver; Adobe: Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects; Media Cleaner and Bias Peak. Learn how to analyze and visualize abstract concepts or hard data relevant to your own career or area of expertise. Learn about collaborative practices flourishing within virtual communities and web-based media.
